Review on Team Performance Aluminized Fiberglass Multi Purpose by Tony Wilson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Virtually no thermal protection

I used a bent piece of sheet metal and covered the inside of the bend with a heat shield. This should serve as protection for the direct exhaust furnace. To my disappointment, the sheet metal got very hot and did little to cool the objects (copper gas pipe and siding) above the screen. When I resumed my testing the next day, I noticed that the fiberglass had separated from the adhesive and was hanging down. I attached this by screwing the fiberglass to the sheet metal. I added 3 more layers of shielding material (I used whatever I had). The isolation result was slightly better, but still not acceptable. I ended up using pieces of oak between the sign and the house to get the desired results.
