These things should help lift the gate and keep it open. But you will find yourself fighting these posts to open your gates. They fight against you when you try to open the gate. When the gate is about halfway open, it will start raising the gate on its own. The problem is that it takes about 10 seconds to open the second half of the tailgate area.
