Review on πŸ› Moen T2903EPBL Gibson: Eco-Performance Modern Tub and Shower Trim in Matte Black - Valve Required by Mark Loredo

Good price for matte black, don't use wrenches on finished part.

I liked the price of this product compared to all other matte black bath and shower combos. Those who have problems with peeling paint should not use a wrench on the finished surface. Especially in the shower, you should fix it with your hands as tightly as possible, then take a screwdriver and put it into the shower head holder, and use it as a lever to tighten it. You can tighten the showerhead by hand, then place tape or cloth over the wrench handles and tighten fully. As long as you use tape on the pipe threads you shouldn't have any leaks. The shower head stream is weak compared to my previous shower head, but it is enough. I imagine if you already have a bad stream that would be awful. The bath spout has a slightly uneven flow, but that's enough. The shower valve was the hardest part for me but I finally figured it out. I just used the black case to cover the old case and didn't use the other white plastic pieces. If you have an older shower valve like mine, the cap mounting holes are at 5 and 7 o'clock. This molding has holes at 3 and 7 o'clock. To fully secure the rosette, the Moen adapter kit 145058 must be ordered or the valve replaced. I don't want to change my valve so I paid about $15 for an adapter kit. The rosette is fastened with a screw until the adapter arrives in the mail. Also, don't forget to buy the trims that cover the drain cap and overflow faceplate. Hope that helps.
