🛁 Moen T2903EPBL Gibson: Eco-Performance Modern Tub and Shower Trim in Matte Black - Valve Required Review

The looks are nice but the spout of the tub is designed to fit a 1/2 copper pipe, NOT a threaded iron pipe. I don't see anywhere in the description, specs or installation guide where this is stated. Of course, I have already installed the drain and overflow/plug of the tub. You can just buy a similar tub spout and keep the rest of the parts for yourself.

The styling was great and so exciting, but it wasn't until a month after the drain pan was installed that the black coating started to wear off. It looks awful now and looks like a drain cap that is several years old instead of the 3 months it actually was. The faucet and handle are fine, but I don't think the black matte material used can withstand contact with the water the drain receives (although that's to be expected given the purpose of the product).

First, it took me two tries to ship the tub faucet correctly. I was sent a shower head and trim twice even though I ordered a shower only installation and a bath and shower set. After finally getting the right product, it turned out that the shower head had a very weak flow. Also note that the black paint will peel off when you screw in the faucet tube, even if it's covered in fabric. I ended up using the finish but bought another black shower head with (hopefully) really strong flow.

I really liked this faucet, its simple style was perfect for our bathroom. This is easily the worst faucet when you shower. It looks like it has never been washed after a shower in 20 years. A complete waste of money. It worries me so much that after a few months I buy another faucet to replace it. I have other Moen faucets at home and they all work well. So in my opinion it was just a failure. Save some money and constant cleaning and buy a different style. I'm not sure if the finish matters…

I wanted to love this product so much. The design corresponded exactly to our ideas; However, after about 1 week of use, the water stains are just awful. We have Moen in our master bathroom which we love and have never had this problem. This unit looks terrible if not cleaned daily. Both faucets are listed as brushed nickel and both are Moen branded. I liked the price of this product compared to all other matte black bath and shower combos. Those who have problems with peeling paint should not use a wrench on the finished surface. Especially in the shower, you should fix it with your hands as tightly as possible, then take a screwdriver and put it into the shower head holder, and use it as a lever to tighten it.
