After unboxing a faulty door ajar sensor in the Dorman brand rear latch, I bench tested this front door assembly before even bothering to close the door panel remove. It went well so I installed it like any mechanic normally does, but once complete the car thought the door was always open. I couldn't figure it out as it performed well in bench tests. Intuitively, I began stirring and pulling what I could, but to no avail. Then I started unscrewing the three primary anchor bolts one at a time. On the second try, the switch returned to normal operation! I thought I should try shortening the bolt on my lathe but after reinstalling it the switch still worked as intended. So there is *something* about this latch housing that could potentially interfere with the factory mounting screws, causing the door ajar switch to stick. The photo shows the location of the screw that caused the problem.
