I liked this scanner

I liked this scanner. And to be honest, the scanner itself is well made and does its job well. However, the software supplied by Neat is not good enough. First, it's very slow on my 2015 Macbook Pro (2.8GHz and 16GB RAM). Opening folders with 500 items takes more than 4 minutes. I realize this is the first time I've been able to open a folder after a clean install - it should be downloading content from a cloud account - but this happens every time I open that folder. Second, it got stuck loading and I'm not sure it ever finished my last 70 receipts. I could see the items in the download queue and I could see that one was being worked on, but I couldn't change it. There is no information about this issue on their support site. No response to my support request. Eventually, after trying a few things myself, the queue was "cleared", but I don't know if those items made it into it (I didn't keep track of how many I should have had at the time). Then, when I decided I had enough content (and tax day was approaching), I tried to get reports or data (CSV, XLS, etc.). This indicates a fatal software error. It just freezes, eventually drains (within minutes) and never recovers. I've restarted it several times and the same thing every time. I uninstalled/reinstalled it (after checking my content on the cloud) and it still blocks when I try to export to any file type. I had to "force" the app when it did this. Finally, and most devastatingly, the company has not responded to my support requests. The site is difficult to use - you log in, you see your content, you open a page to request support and it asks you to log in again. If you want to return to your content, please log in again. So I open the case anyway and get an automated note that says "We will try to respond within 72 hours". So four days later I send a request (in response to an email). No Answer. I am opening a "Customer Service" query instead of a "Support" query. Another automated email. A few days have passed and there is still no response from the company. When I go to their website I don't see any request under my account. Based on my experience with the software and the company behind the software alone, I cannot recommend this product.
