doing a good job New and programs work significantly.

I use it all the time. doing a good job New and programs work much slower than the 1st generation. I like the 1st generation best. Unfortunately, "improved" features of the program slow down the process. A typical performance mentality update in programming over functionality. Still the best system available.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • A little torn

Functionally, the main problem with this scanner is that it doesn't have a very good OCR implementation. The numbers are almost always scanned incorrectly, making the process manual and defeating the whole purpose of a scanner with software like this. I've spent some time on this and found I didn't save any time at all.

Apparently not compatible with Apple AirPort Express Wireless

Connects easily to Windows/Cisco home network but not to OSX/Apple AirPort Express network at work where it is used target. Had contacted Neat support and they weren't very helpful. They insisted that I connect the scanner to my mobile hotspot and not to my existing wireless network. I'm sorry, but that's just not an acceptable long-term solution. Replaced with a Brother scanner that's half the price. I gave 2 stars because it works with Windows.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Nothing

Clean receipts not neat at all

I didn't like it - maybe mine is just defective. I spent over a dollar updating my Quicken and it still didn't work. After several hours of technical support from both companies and over the phone, ONE receipt was finally uploaded to my Quicken software. It takes a few steps to download the Rec't info, and it's faster to just skip the Neatrec't part. In addition, later ones did not take into account the payee, expense category and other important data. If I had taken the time to get into my…

  • Elegant design

I liked this scanner

I liked this scanner. And to be honest, the scanner itself is well made and does its job well. However, the software supplied by Neat is not good enough. First, it's very slow on my 2015 Macbook Pro (2.8GHz and 16GB RAM). Opening folders with 500 items takes more than 4 minutes. I realize this is the first time I've been able to open a folder after a clean install - it should be downloading content from a cloud account - but this happens every time I open that folder. Second, it got stuck…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Some problems
