Even in black my 9 year old daughter loves these jackets. They are easy to put on and the size is a bit large so there is room for her to grow if she doesn't lose it first! Even with little space, the sleeves are not too long. Has enough weight on the outside. Please note that there is no fleece inside. We live in Florida here so the lack of fleece isn't an issue, but it probably won't be great if you really need some warmth. Think of it as another layer - a light jacket or sweatshirt. She has another similar jacket with side pockets. The patch pockets are prettier, but the side pockets are way better than the actual pockets.
