Gas lens modification required

All items of good quality, especially considering the price. Different sized clear cups are harder to find than regular #10 cups. For that reason I still recommend this kit, it can be made to work. The problem is that the gas lens only has 1 annular groove. It is properly positioned so the O-ring can seal both the insulator and the back of the glass bowl at the same time. But the slightest impact on the cup knocks it out of its precarious seal, usually causing the cup to fall and shatter. Plenty of extra O-rings are included, but if you tighten more than one at a time the cup will not fit. In my opinion the gas lens needs another o-ring groove in the middle of the threaded part. The thread is not used at all on this kit, but it allows you to use regular pink mugs if (when) your glass mugs break. The pink threaded cups can still be used after this mod if I remove the 2nd o-ring and leave the 1st in place to seal the insulator. Modification: Insert the gas lens into the drill bit from the side of the torch. Leave the red plastic protective cap so I don't mix up the threads. Make sure it doesn't wobble or pop out. Start with .040 inch or whatever size is least used in practice. Insert a 1/8" ball end mill into your Dremel tool. Start the gas lens spinning in the drill bit and place the dremel tool on the center of the threaded cup. Position is not critical as long as there are a few currents before and a few after. Start with a light touch to keep the tool from moving. Continue until there is no thread left in the area I am sewing. Place the o-ring in the new groove and check that the cup fits. Continue gradually until the cup is snug. Usual warnings apply. Creating or using a mod may cause injury. I am not encouraging anyone to make this mod, just describing what I did. So far this has worked fine for me. Having 2 o-rings in separate grooves seems to work much better than the alternatives I've seen with 1 o-ring in the middle or 2 o-rings side by side in a wider groove next to the insulator. It's easy for manufacturers to add this feature during production, so I assume it will be released soon, but it's hard to find at the moment, so just DIY.
