Review on High-Speed Intel Certified CalDigit Thunderbolt Cable - Optimum Data Transfer and Exceptional Performance by Jeff Callier

I have a 2m cable for my ThinkPad Thunderbolt -Bought Dock 3 because it conforms to Lenovo specifications listed in user guide. I bought it to replace the passive 1.5m cable that comes with the docking station. It works great but only works when the power cord is plugged into the laptop. If the power cord is not connected to the laptop, the Caldigit cable will not work. While the 1.5m passive cable that comes with the docking station doesn't require it. Presumably this is due to the laptop hardware design/limitations and not a fault with this Caldigit cable.
