    Long enough to actually use!

Finally a Thunderbolt 3 cable long enough to actually do something with it! I often place my Macbook Pro on a BookArc stand, which holds it horizontally with the lid closed, and then when I leave, I unplug the Thunderbolt cable and slip it straight into my bag. Other cables have always been too short and/or cramped on the docking station and now with a CalDigit cable I finally have some breathing room! It works well!

Not worth it Computer accessories and peripherals

I bought this as an extra power cable for my 15" touchscreen MacBook Pro. The CalDigital cable is definitely more durable than the OEM cable and one of the few cables that can handle 87W (100W max). for my computer. The cable is a bit pricey but I'm sure it will last for many years. Updated (7/15/17). For 4 months use. I emailed Caldigit Support in June and resubmitted a week later with no response.

Good quality, works as expected, fair price for the market.

The cable is fully as described, well designed and works great. I connected it to a Lacie 2Big Thunderbolt 3 2 Disk Array from my iMac Pro. Supports Thunderbolt 3 40Gbps speed even at 2m length. Order was completed by Revane and shipped under Prime. Cables are notoriously expensive, but considering that Apple's 0.5m cable costs $39.95, $49.95 for this 2m cable isn't too bad, especially considering the shipping and overall build quality taken into account. All of this makes it good value for…

So far so good with a TS3+ Dock and two (1 Intel, 1 M1) MacBook Pro

This TB4 cable allows me to switch between two Macs with the same TS3+ Dock just by pulling the cable unplug from one Mac's TB port and plug into the other's TB port. Sounds easy, but with the old long Thunderbolt 3 active cable, it's never been easier. With the old long TB3 active cable, it was a hassle to find the Mac and reboot the dock to switch between two Macs using the same dock. For the time being we give 4 stars. If it lasts, I'll upgrade it to 5 stars. I've only had the cable a few…

Doesn't work on dual 3k monitors of Windows PC

The cable is said to support a display up to 8k but it only allows screen mirroring on my dual 3k monitors. You cannot extend the screen. My two monitors are daisy chained and the Thunderbolt is connected to the upstream monitor. Note: If you have two lower resolution monitors like 1080, they will work fine. In this case, however, a regular USB-C cable will suffice, so you don't even need the supposed Thunderbolt 4 cable.

    Ideal for eGPU connections

This is an active Thunderbolt 3 cable capable of transferring data and video at up to 40Gbps. The net data transfer rate is 32 Gb/s according to the TB3 standard. The cable connects the 16" MBP 2016 and Sonnet 650OC chassis to the Vega FE card. The connection was reliable. The eGPU chassis is located behind a desk so the GPU fan noise is muted. All monitors are in mine Configuration directly connected to the eGPU.

Functionally identical to LG 5k OEM cable

I bought this cable to use between my LG 5k and my 2016 15" Macbook Pro - it works great. System report that it charges the system at 85W, as does the OEM cable that came with the display (compared to other cables I've tried, we limited it to 65W) Supports devices connected to a USB Hub are connected, as well as OEM LG's OEM cable, the cable is slightly thicker and stiffer, the connectors are a few mm longer than the OEM, and the transition from cable to connector appears to be stiffer with…

    • Could have chosen a newer model

I have a 2m cable for my ThinkPad Thunderbolt -Bought Dock 3 because it conforms to Lenovo specifications listed in user guide. I bought it to replace the passive 1.5m cable that comes with the docking station. It works great but only works when the power cord is plugged into the laptop. If the power cord is not connected to the laptop, the Caldigit cable will not work. While the 1.5m passive cable that comes with the docking station doesn't require it. Presumably this is due to the laptop…

I bought this cable to use between my LG 5k and my 2016 15" Macbook Pro - it works great. In the system report I can see that it charges the system at 85W, same as the OEM cable that came with the display (compared to other cables I've tried, we limit it to 65W).Also supports devices connected to a USB hub, just like OEM Compared to the LG OEM cable, this one has a slightly thicker and stiffer cable, the connectors are a few mm longer than the OEM, and the CalDigit cable-to-connector transition

TOUCH this wire and it will disconnect

Just TOUCH this wire and it will lose connection. Everything but your computer will be turned off. So you wait 10-15 seconds and everything mysteriously turns back on, but your sound is now coming from your computer and not your external speakers. You then fiddle with the Control Panel's Sound menu, plugging and unplugging this cable a few times until you get sound from your external speakers again. I'm not exaggerating about "touch". My Dell G7 has a Thunderbolt jack on the right side and I…

I used a much shorter 18" manufacturer Thunderbolt3 cable to connect a 27" iMac to a 4-drive Thunder3 QuadX external bay. With a 2m cable from CalDigit connected for the first time today, the BlackMagic Speed Test shows that the drives (spinning SATA drives) run at the same speed as with the shorter cable. I'm not a super engineer, but it gives me some confidence that the longer cable isn't in the way, and now I can move the case to a more convenient location, away from the iMac. Also, I tested
