A brand that delivers!

I don't know what this "lock function" is, but I can see other functions! me who has to do a lot of research on every little thing because yes that is the state of your finances at the moment. OR maybe you're just tired of buying things that aren't even worth the $25 you spent or whatever, regardless of your financial situation. If you're like me, you're usually looking for a review from someone whose story is somewhat parallel to your own; So you can be sure that you are really choosing the right brand because it has been successful or not for that person with that parallel history. This review is for you. I got it because I'm a whopping slow cooker fan (single mom, day student!) and my son doesn't like anything. Literally. I don't know how the baby is still alive. I still had a 6 quart pot after his dad and I split up. I've tried making smaller portions, which has never worked well - literally never - because I've been cooking mostly for myself (see the part where I said my son doesn't like anything). Even with leftovers or extra freezing we wasted so much food and I hated it. I eventually came to the conclusion that I just needed a smaller pot if I was going to use it, but I couldn't justify the effort. They all seemed to cost about the same as the big ones! I didn't look long until I recently got fed up with my busy schedule and thought it would be a worthwhile expense at this point in my life. I knew I needed a small one - a very small one - if I wanted to not only cook less food, but also do it well. I've seen a few singles that I knew might work, but they seemed unwieldy considering the ad was for convenience. I wanted something simpler but with a little more volume. I found this little girl on Revain and I liked her because she was pink and small. Mainly because it was pink (goes really well with all that crap I've been explaining about being super smart, doesn't it? I like making things difficult for myself, what can I say?) It had good reviews, it was very understated , pink and only $25. ! In fact, I sat on this idea for several days before taking the plunge. When I came up with it, it was a lot smaller than I initially thought, but so adorable! (I had bin liners from my 6 liter which were colossal compared to them so I tied some of these together the way cleaners make bin liners so they fit snugly in bathroom bins and look "nice". I guess. ? ) The very first thing that struck me was the cooking temperature. "Low" means REALLY "low"! Good if someone is interested. Multicookers now cook too hot, even at low temperature for 10 hours. I've always preferred to cook the longest, whether I'm home or not, because my experience is that cooking dishes slowly in a slow cooker makes them so much better. I made tacos for my first meal (yeah, I'm really lazy, you know?). I threw in a piece of defrosted ground beef and left. I checked it many times because the display is really hard to see unless you turn off the light. It's okay because the switch is right here, but it might bother someone with a different kitchen design. I did notice that it heats up very, very slowly BUT I was blown away by how well it cooks. Yes, I know it's just ground beef, but all I had to do was stir it. It fell apart on its own, which might be because it was so slow to warm up - that's just my opinion! I added seasoning to give the taco flavor (this recipe is so damn easy I will never buy pre-packaged taco seasoning again! Check it out - you have to try it!) and then I added overcooked beans, which we all know are super unattractive on the outside of the jar and chewy but quickly wasted on meat. I don't remember how long it took because it was the weekend and I was at home. I know I didn't even let it run to 2 because I wanted it to simmer, but I knew the ground beef wouldn't take long. It really was that tasty and the PERFECT amount for us. The next night we both had enough left over to eat a medium portion and then it was all over. Cleaning was easy with liners and also because they are not bulky or heavy. Some things always manage to get through the earbuds, even though they are very small. My big one always had leftovers even after I cleaned it. Is always. Maybe from the liners themselves, maybe from the food - xs, but it drove me crazy, not cured. This slow cooker was so easy - I brushed and washed off the leftovers and they came off easily. And yes, I brought this bastard to light because this residual nonsense drove me nuts in another pot. Whatever it was, I didn't want it to be part of my next meal! I am very satisfied with this product. It's small, easy to store, super simple with no-fuss features, it cooks the way it SHOULD - low, low, high, high - perfect for me and my son and we don't waste food or money. And it's pink! So. Reasonable price, you get value for money, does what it says on the tin. In fact, more companies should consider such a basic concept.
