After several iterations of UniFi hardware for a two story townhouse (plus basement), I've currently settled on a pair that has Wi-Fi and a bridge in between provides two segments of wired networks (main + second floor, basement lab). GOOD: Small form factor, Mesh speed between 640-800MB/s, PoE offers flexible placement and performance, Wide coverage from a single device, Easy management with UniFi SDN, Unbeatable performance compared to traditional consumer or ISPs, comes with a PoE supplied injector if you don't have a switch with that capability, easily handles large numbers of devices BAD: A bit pricey if you're just getting started with the UniFi ecosystem. CONCLUSION: UniFi's line of products strikes a good balance of functionality and ease of use, and the Flex HD APs are my go-to choice for anyone looking to up their network game without going face-first. into heavy corporate equipment. The ecosystem is well balanced, and while some components are less effective than alternatives (USG, I'm looking at you), none of them come close to managing usability. Connect, implement, update - done.
