one of the best wifi hotspots

I'm an IT professional and I can manage my own network. I have an AC Pro as a base on the second floor ceiling and two Flex HDs on the first floor to cover a 3,000 square foot house and backyard. The thing works great. I love their uplink wifi if you need it. I use it for my garden and for automatic search and channel assignment! Not perfect, but pretty good. The Ubiquiti product is different from the traditional home use product. They have more features for advanced users and the configuration

Pros
  • Nice design
Cons
  • Broken

Small and powerful Wi-Fi hotspot you can take anywhere

This Unifi FlexHD hotspot recently replaced a Netgear Wi-Fi router used in hotspot mode to provide wireless access to my enable at home. I had some performance issues and didn't use the router features as my internal internet routing was handled by a Ubiquity EdgeMax router in my home office connected to my cable modem. The access point is connected to the router via a Unifi 8-port ethernet switch, which is hardwired to the router from my living room. After replacing the uplink from an old Cat…

Works great 5GHz 3 antennas 2.4GHz 2 antennas Not much

Wish it was 3 x 3 at 2.4GHz, can only download 300Mbps (150Mbps + 150Mbps). Download Unifi SW to your computer and connect to your network and customize! Or use the mobile app! However, it is known that the mobile application will contain settings and implementation of the UniFi SW. So if you're not interested in the UniFi software, just create a mobile app. Range 1800 sq.m. The 4 bedroom house is about in the middle. Seems to cover everything. UAP AC Pro (ceiling disc frisbee) definitely fits!

Great little form factor, not sure where U dropped the ball

I've used several other Ubiquiti wireless hotspot models and expected more from this one, and even more for the price. It was about 2x more expensive than the Lites I currently use. I've been using FlexHD for a while. It should have better coverage than the Lite, but it doesn't. It uses the same channel and position as the Lite it replaced and reports a lot of interference. I get no response from Ubiquiti. According to support forum members, it looks like Nano is having the same issue. And so…

Pros
  • Quick changeover
Cons
  • There are cons

I didn't have a blind spot in my house that was mostly covered by a UniFi AC-Pro , which was mounted on the wall between two floors of my house. Unfortunately, my home office was behind a WiFi hotspot and was a slow-stop zone. I needed to add another cable point to my office but didn't want a huge pane and blue light on my walls. so i got these instead. I keep it on a shelf next to the ethernet port in the wall and it looks great, quite small but very powerful.

Pros
  • , understandable even for an old one
Cons
  • Almost never

Clean box with good Wi-Fi performance

I was talking about 4 stars because of 1 RJ45 port with no continuity. Luckily I have 2 Cat 6a ports in the office so I can connect one to the Flex HD. I have a pro in the living room. Professionals serve many more customers and provide reliable performance. Flex HD operates at a medium frequency of 5 GHz vht 80 and a low frequency of 2.4 40. Primary services are an office on the first floor and the second floor above. I have a pro on low frequency. Site survey conducted with NetSpot Pro and…

Plug in Wi-Fi problem, accept, upgrade and forget

After several iterations of UniFi hardware for a two story townhouse (plus basement), I've currently settled on a pair that has Wi-Fi and a bridge in between provides two segments of wired networks (main + second floor, basement lab). GOOD: Small form factor, Mesh speed between 640-800MB/s, PoE offers flexible placement and performance, Wide coverage from a single device, Easy management with UniFi SDN, Unbeatable performance compared to traditional consumer or ISPs, comes with a PoE supplied…

It has its own problems - Solved

This product would have been 5 stars until I found a bug in its behavior and tech support was silent on this issue. I am using a device with 4 SSIDs each using 2g and 5g radios. One of the SSIDs is scheduled (WLAN for kids devices). When the schedule turns the SSID back on, the 2G radio will disconnect all connected clients for a while (like the radio is rebooting). This does not happen with connected 5G clients. This doesn't seem like such a big deal until you find out that most of your home…
