These jars are not only useful for food storage but also for other household purposes. I use them in my paint and finish shop to extend their shelf life. They are opaque so sunlight does not affect the contents. I transfer the finish to a screw top jar to eliminate the need to pry off the lid and to prevent moisture from rusting some metal containers. Simply cut the specification warnings and other pertinent information from the original product labels and stick to the jar for future reference. They only work well for water and oil based coatings. Varnishes, acetone or detergents will melt the container. The cans are made of durable plastic. They seal tightly to prevent leakage and won't crack from freezing. Cleaning is easy and they can be reused many times. In addition, the 33 ounce capacity provides room to expand when freezing 32 ounce liquid. Will definitely be buying more in different sizes.
