Review on Inland NSS13 Wall Tap with 1 Outlet, Surge Protection, and 2 USB Charger Ports (2.1A) Ideal for iPad and More by Christopher Isaac

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for size, best in power strips and surge protectors

I've been using it for about 2 months now and it hasn't let me down. It works well as a pass-through AC plug, allowing you to use the outlet as before - with some caveats. Perfectly charges our iPhone 5s, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U tablet (any combination). I also appreciate the black finish as many of these adapters come in bright colors. I cover the "shielded" light with tape and now almost forget it exists. Pros: It's quite small and hard to see against the dark blackboard. Provides nearly unobstructed access to the top outlet of a traditional 2AC wall outlet when plugged into the bottom outlet. Cons: Forget using AC other than a straight plug. If your connector is bent down, it won't fit in the top connector and will block the USB ports if you try to insert it there. The same applies to the transformer (wall wart). If the USB ports were on the sides, this would be negated. It didn't stop me and I still highly recommend this product, but it gave me a headache one day when I had to plug something into a transformer next to this device. I just used an extension to get around this problem, but that wouldn't be the ideal permanent solution. you have been warned All in all, you can't go wrong with this product as long as you don't need more than 2.1 amps of total USB power and don't fall into the outlet dilemma outlined earlier. It works so well I'm buying another one for another room. Five stars.
