I use NuGiant NSS13 as a travel charger. I've found that my laptop's cable sometimes gets in the way of the USB ports, but that's just a minor inconvenience.

With the X3 MOV and a 1080J rating this offers more protection than many pricier options and it has the bonus of two USB ports for charging and it's small enough to be moved easily to protect against really unreliable networks in other countries (I used this in the future after my charger burned out in a small town in India). It also fits a duplex outlet without blocking other ports.

This compact part is ideal for wall mounted TVs. I bought a second one for my living room TV. It even has a USB port which was great for the bedroom as I got my wife a Firestick to power on for Christmas. Surge protected and USB powered.

I've been using it for about 2 months now and it hasn't let me down. It works well as a pass-through AC plug, allowing you to use the outlet as before - with some caveats.
