Review on 🔋 GE Bluetooth Battery-Powered Wire-Free Detection by Lisa Ortega

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well, but not without a few problems.

I've had c by ge bulbs for about a year now and have used Alexa and sometimes Google to control them, but I'm tired of constantly shouting commands to turn the light on, especially since I don't have Alexa in every room. So I figured that would be ideal as it would detect movement instead of a voice. However, my initial installation was a nightmare. My lightbulbs were already synced to Alexa and the Bridge and I figured I could just add motion and that's it, but no! I had to reset all 15 bulbs. I've found that adding these motion sensors renders my Alexa voice commands and smart bridge useless, like the device is literally incompatible with them. So if you don't mind giving up Alexa/Google voice commands and your smart bridge to control your lights then go for it, I just had no idea. The app even tells you during setup that it's "currently incompatible" so my lights don't show up in my Alexa app anymore, crap. But of course you can use the c by ge app to control the lights, but not Google or Alexa. Apart from these shortcomings it works as expected, I have the light on upstairs automatically when someone goes up the stairs and the same downstairs. You can adjust the brightness based on the time of day and set a timer for how long you want the light to stay on to save energy. Also a tip: set up your lights FIRST, then add motion sensors, otherwise they won't work. So if your previous lights are already synced with Google or Alexa, you'll need to reset your lights and then add motion sensors. There will also be a firmware update, so I recommend you install it now. I will update the rating if anything changes in my rating. Thank you.
