Description of 🔋 GE Bluetooth Battery-Powered Wire-Free Detection

Motion sensor lights: The battery powered motion sensor triggers Cync and C by GE smart bulbs, smart plugs, and smart switches to turn on when someone enters the room. Place the motion sensor on a shelf or table, or mount with the included brackets. Programmable motion sensor: Schedule your wire-free motion sensor to deactivate during certain hours or turn light bulbs on softly at nighttime. Make any room in your house have motion activated light. Replaceable battery rated to last over two years. Save money and energy: Lights can be turned off after 5 minutes if no motion is detected by the motion sensor. Ambient light detection keeps lights from turning on when natural light fills the room. Automatically turn off devices: Connect this smart motion sensor to a Cync or C by GE Smart Plug in the Cync app, and the motion sensor will automatically turn off devices like flat irons or space heaters if no one is in the room. Expansive motion coverage: With multiple positioning options, it's easy to get expansive motion activated light anywhere in your home. The motion sensor's pivoting head and 105 degree coverage detect areas up to 20 feet.

Couldn't connect it to anything

Bought this to use with my C by GE lights to turn it on and off when moving but it never worked. I tried this in multiple rooms and with multiple lights and it didn't work. I think the last thing I liked was that there was no real way to check if it was working or felt movement. With other sensors, I was able to connect them to Alexa and see what their status was to see if they were working, but there was nothing to do with it either in the native app or through Alexa.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Fits

Terrible installation process and automatic shutdown

This product represents exactly where GE is in terms of smart products - in the back. absolutely regrets; Installation is terrible - there are no instructions anywhere, and for someone in their 30s who works in tech and considers himself tech savvy, the installation process was a nightmare. The app is just awful to work with and when I set it up the sensor chose to just turn itself off automatically with no prompts or notifications. After scouring the internet I returned them and couldn't find…

Pros
  • Great for me

What they don't talk about

Product works great. But, and a big BUT I'd like to know before I buy any new product line, and all from GE. Currently new wireless products can't connect to your c-reach, so you'll need to take any bulb you want to use with any of the wireless devices from your c-reach setting in the app (that is, from HomeKit, as it only supports c by GE is a product that connects to HomeKit) and with its own "location" in the c by GE app. A major pain, especially if you've had and have had a full HomeKit…

Useless guide. Terrible interface.

The setup process of this device sucks. The instructions do not explain how to get the device working with a lightbulb. The only information is not useful. The light works fine, the motion detector appears in my application, there is no way to make them work. Maybe I'll find the answer if I research the internet for another hour. Very disappointed with the false advertisement of "Simple Setup" or something similar. Why does this matter, I work in web development and have been a computer nerd…

No light switch required!

I recently installed a closet light for my mother and decided to give her a small smart home. The light bars are driven by C by GE connectors and I decided to try this to power them on. Setup was fairly painless and shouldn't be difficult to set up going forward, but be aware that if you really want to change the settings, you'll have to press the physical button on the sensor for the app to find it, which can be annoying , if you mount it on the ceiling or in an inaccessible place. The only…

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Works great with bulbs

Bought this for my mom for Christmas. Your garage does not have a light switch in the garage next to the outside door. She has a flashlight by the entrance so she can go to the inner door at night where the light switch is. Intelligent switch (neutral not required). Installation was easy, download C by GE onto your smartphone, install the light switch (listed above) and set up the light switch (you will need Bluetooth to initially set up the light switch. Then navigate to where it is you want…

Works well, but not without a few problems.

I've had c by ge bulbs for about a year now and have used Alexa and sometimes Google to control them, but I'm tired of constantly shouting commands to turn the light on, especially since I don't have Alexa in every room. So I figured that would be ideal as it would detect movement instead of a voice. However, my initial installation was a nightmare. My lightbulbs were already synced to Alexa and the Bridge and I figured I could just add motion and that's it, but no! I had to reset all 15 bulbs.
