This pump works fine but is broken. On a recent hike, two of us took these pumps to inflate air mattresses and river floats. The pump works very well and inflates large objects quickly and easily, but both pumps broke after some time of use. My guess is that the glue and structure that holds the pump together will fall apart on a strong upstroke. When you pull the pump handle up, it's natural to pull it all the way in before pushing the handle back. I suspect this causes the adhesive to loosen many times and then the top to come loose. Once I managed to get everything lined up perfectly on the inside and get the pump working again, but shortly thereafter it failed again. Be disappointed.
