Review on 🏎️ Pace Setter 70-1182 Black Exhaust Header: Optimal Performance for Your Vehicle by Issac Burnett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Suitable for RZ trucks with minor modifications.

I bought this for my 3RZ 85 pickup. It doesn't fit perfectly but if you hit the weld on the outside of the header a little it will clean up the 2nd generation frame. Where the primaries come out of the flange there is enough straight pipe that you can cut about 3/4 inch and weld back on for more clearance. You will need to remove the frame protection plate for the old 22RE fuel line and the line itself if you haven't already done so. I didn't like the flanged head gasket so I went with the originals. The flange itself was real and thick enough that I don't expect any sealing issues. The manifolds don't come with new EGR or O2 flange bolts, although both are metric (M8 I believe). I decided to run 1/4" bolts through the EGR pipe flange and use nuts on the front. This makes working with the replacement vehicle much easier. On the O2 flange I found some Toyota replacement bolts that fit. The 3 bolt manifold flange is flat and not spherical. With the included gasket it makes a good seal. You get a small corner piece with an O2 plug on it. One end is 3 bolts that mate with the manifold, the other is 2 bolts for the factory catalytic converter.I just cut 2 bolts and welded them to my existing exhaust. The paint smokes heavily on the first run and probably won't last long In fact there is a label on the manifold saying you must use something.Although my 85's is my rock toy i really don't care the engine bay temp didn't rise much with these at 150 with shipping i would buy it again it is cheap enough that you don't feel too bad about it. They're much better than a leaky, crack-prone cast manifold.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly dented
