Just got this today so can't report any reliability issues yet, but seems well done. You need to wind it up properly for it to work properly: wind it up to 60 minutes, for example, and then turn the dial back to the desired time. It takes a few seconds, but is still faster and easier than any electronic timer I've ever used. If you don't wind it up properly, the alarm will not be at full volume and not at full duration. When fully rolled up, it's loud enough to be heard from the farthest corner of my house, assuming there's no loud TV, headphones, active kids, quarreling adults, or barking dogs. If it were louder then it would probably be annoyingly loud if you were in the same room with it when it turns off. If for some reason it's not loud enough, you can always move it closer. The alarm clock will ring for about 3-4 seconds when fully wound. I particularly like the red dial that rotates to show the time remaining. This makes it very easy to read. The magnet is strong enough to securely attach to the front of my fridge. It's reliable enough that I can wind it up and set it up with one hand. If I have any reliability issues I will revisit this review.
