Overall it's really well made and runs smoothly. Some people claim it's not weatherproof, but it's pretty damn close. There are a couple of ribs where the cable enters and a gusset to allow for different gauges of cable and when tightened they are fairly waterproof and the plastic clamshell has a grommet which works fairly well when squeezed. Of course it will retain water if submerged in water or left out in the rain, but as long as it's plugged into a regular outlet with a cover you should be fine. The construction is very solid and everything fits snugly (ie doesn't dangle or wobble) and will last a lifetime. The rating is for a 50 amp plug.
