What a wonderful ice cream shape! I decided to get rid of my silicones when they started making my ice cream taste weird - I figured they must have washed something into the ice cream. Even if they weren't leaching chemicals, the "frosty taste" they imparted to the ice cream was enough to get rid of them. I've tried different brands of silicone ice molds including brands that usually make good stuff (like Oxo) and all had this issue. I was happy to find two brands of stainless steel ice cube molds at Revain and settled on the Endurance brand. because the consensus seemed to be that they were stronger. I was not disappointed. These are powerful ice cube trays. Being made of stainless steel, not only do they not add flavor to the ice like older aluminum models of a similar design, they also appear to be much stronger and release the ice more easily. As for other posts saying it's difficult to let go of the ice, users should just pour water on their backs before moving the lever.
