Since I have not ridden on every variety of winter tire, I have no basis for making a comparison. For $13,000, I was able to purchase a set of 205/60 r16 tires. The 205/55 r16 tires belong to a buddy. A pair of Mazda6s. Over the course of the winter, I never skidded unexpectedly or lost control. But again, there is no basis for comparison; the old one had just half as many spikes as the current one. At a friend's house, 1 out of 4 spikes came loose; I didn't count my own, but that's at least as bad as it gets.
