Review on πŸ” Sleek and Stylish LFPartS Slim Stainless Steel License Plate Frame - Mirror Finish with 2 Holes by Matthew Riley

Good product for the price

This is a good product in the price range if the paint finish will hold up over time (rust etc). I didn't get the tool pictured but didn't need it either, who doesn't even have a screwdriver? It's a fairly thin frame and doesn't feel like one of the higher end stainless steel versions, but I wasn't expecting that at this price point. While the trailing edge isn't razor sharp, it's still a piece of metal that I don't want to touch my paintwork as it would damage it from the normal vibrations caused while driving. On my truck this is not a problem as it is attached to the bumper over black plastic. For my other vehicles, I bought Home Depot felt backing material with adhesive on one side and added it to the center and four corners of the license plate so the soft material would touch the car's paint and not the metal frame. or a plate, both of which remove the paint at the points of contact. What I REALLY love is the redesigned screw top and latch. Most of the caps and mounts are plastic and the cap snaps onto the mount (as shown in the 5/20/18 photo). Sometimes it can be difficult to remove and reuse them. Although the cap is still plastic, it is now internally threaded and the bracket is now metal (brass colored, was translucent plastic) and has external threads so the caps can be easily screwed on and removed (see my attached pictures). BIG change in product design!
