Review on MICHELIN Energy XM2+ 205/65 R15 94V Summer by Wiktor Fokt ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best thing for the money, glad I did it.

Hyundai Solaris 185/65 R15 tires, manufactured in 02/2022. My previous experience with rolling was with oak Hankook k415, and it had been winter on Nordman 4. I had my eye on the Primacy 4, but the steep asking price and questionable durability of the sidewall made me rethink my decision. I decided against the energy saving because a friend's experience had shown that the rubber is highly rolling and constantly collects punctures. In the end, I decided on Energy XM2 + after two weeks of exhaustive market research and evaluations, and I have no regrets. I was surprised to find that at speeds up to 50 km/h, the wheels are completely inaudible in Solaris, despite the lack of any form of sound insulation (on the last rubber, the noise covered all the surrounding sounds). Within a week, I've covered 500 kilometers. Rubber is very quiet compared to the past, but after 50 km/h it starts to howl and the sound grows up to about 70 km/h (this comparison is not entirely accurate, but it does feel like the braking distance was cut in half, confidence in braking was added, and now I'm worried that they won't "catch up" behind). If you drive a luxury vehicle and hear a noise, you probably won't give it a second thought. Before, after 130 km/h, the car was not stable in a straight line; I had to grip the wheel firmly and make course adjustments; the suspension was always sinful. Whereas before turns required only 60 kilometers per hour, I am now passing vehicles at 80 kilometers per hour, and it appears that even this is not the maximum. You move the wheel in the direction you want to go, even if it feels like the tires are going to blow up, and the car keeps going in that way. Comfortable movement over joints and uneven ground; breaking old habits is less of a chore. Nice coasting, very little speed loss. In conclusion, after switching up my footwear, I felt as though I'd upgraded my automobile as well. I had no idea that tires play such a crucial role. In every corner, I feel the need to floor it to see what kind of grip the wheels have. I'm overjoyed to be a Michelin customer for life.

Pros
  • This is a design that I would suggest to my friends. Very comfortable tires, low noise level, and excellent handling of bumps; at the same time, the strength of the tire promises to be at a decent level (reinforced Ironflex sidewall); an authorized dealer did a free tire fitting on the day of purchase and accepted winter tires for storage; price range: moderate to high
Cons
  • There are no major issues with the tires, just minor ones that people are picking at. Pebbles become lodged in the tread and hit the arches at speed when driving in the city and through yards (not on the dirt road), which isn't a huge disadvantage but is something I've never experienced before; around 50 km/h they start to howl on "not smooth" pavement.
