Review on Swissmar 00453C Wing Corkscrew by Sara Gurule

like a knife through butter!

My problem with corkscrews is that the tip of the screw goes into the cork. That's no problem with this corkscrew - it cuts through butter like a knife. The screw seems to fit better than usual. This is the best corkscrew I've ever used, although admittedly I haven't used a wide variety. Some reviewers said this corkscrew feels weak. When I saw this, I looked at the reviews of other products from this company and they shine, so I decided to give it a try. Well, it seems faint, but I don't think it is. It reminds me of a Zyliss garlic press I bought 27 years ago that finally broke last year. It seemed so easy and free. I'm not saying this will continue; I have no idea. But I think that sometimes when the instruments are very well made (and they are made in Switzerland) they tend to be lighter rather than heavier.

Pros
  • Bar and Wine Tools
Cons
  • Infinitely Sluggish
