I thought it would be great to have some desk space under the monitors to house my laptops. I bought this mount because it mounts right on top of my desk, which is what I was looking for. I didn't want to take up more desktop space than absolutely necessary. Partly because it was super cumbersome, partly because of poor instructions, it took me over 15 minutes to even begin building step 1 (note: the screws are already in the holes for the yoke!). I finally assembled the base and went to fix it on the table and... it wasn't small enough! Unfortunately, this led us to discover the following issue. The clamp does not fit between the work table and the support rod. And there really is no (safe) way to get around this. When unpacking the mount I completely ruined the box and packaging so I decided to pay the cost and donate it.
