ADAPTER IS GOOD -- THE STAND SUPPLIED IS BAD A few years ago I bought two AC1200 Netis Wi-Fi USB Adapters ( WF2190 ) for my two home computers with Win 7 Premium Home Edition. They were working really well until they started losing connections a few months ago. Sometimes they were connected to the router for several days. At other times, they cut 10 times in the space of an hour. Removing the device from the cradle and reinserting it would reset the internet connection, but then, maybe an hour or maybe two minutes later, it went off again. I tried swapping the devices but both behaved the same and both got disconnected from both computers. . I've tried my best to fix the problem but to no avail. Finally, I bought a Wi-Fi adapter from another company, installed the drivers, and plugged it into a Netis cradle that plugged into a USB-3 port on one of the computers. The computer could NOT recognize the device. I put the AC1200 in the docking station and it connected to the internet but disconnected after a few minutes. Internet. I then removed it and put it in the Netis stand and the computer didn't see it at all. I plugged the new adapter straight back into the USB port and it immediately connected to the internet. There is obviously something wrong with the Netis cradle and/or the cable from the cradle to the USB port. I went to the second computer with the second AC1200, unplugged the AC1200 from the Netis dock and plugged it straight into the USB port. He connected to the internet and kept connected. I ended up removing it from the USB port and plugging it into the stand. It was connected for a few minutes and then disconnected from the internet when connected to the Netis dock. I reconnected this second AC1200 directly to the second computer's USB port. It connected and the connection was maintained for several days with no problems. The new Wi-Fi adapter failed completely when connected through either mount and both Netis devices disconnected after a while when connected through either mount, but both worked properly when connected directly connected via the USB port. The inevitable conclusion is that something is wrong with the Netis cradle and/or cables from the cradle as AC1200 adapters. CONCLUSION: The Netis Wi-Fi adapter itself is very good. It works well. I'm happy with that EXCEPT the included brackets you use to plug the adapter into your USB port have serious, serious issues and should NOT be used. Plug Netis straight into your USB port and you won't have any problems. Very good product. Plug your Netis into the included docking station and sooner or later it will disconnect from the internet and become unusable.
