Extends the life of older computers
Advantages: Easy plug-and-play setup; adds years to your old laptop or computer. Cons: Adds cable clutter; doesn't always support HD resolution (from personal experience and other reviewers) in the latest high-end monitors. I'm not sure if this is a limitation of this device, my laptop's display hardware, or both. bottom line. Works mostly as advertised, but don't expect miracles. If you're buying a really great monitor and want crystal clear HD, you'll be happier if you upgrade your graphics card and/or processor. But if, like me, you use your old but still very functional laptop for tools (email, word processing, PowerPoint presentations), this product gets the job done.
