This assortment contains 8 x 32 screws normally used for fixings NOT sockets. Sockets usually require a smaller 6x32 screw. I say "usually" because I often renovate old houses with metal outlets. Inevitably, I will come across an old metal bushing that was either cross-threaded or ripped off many years ago by someone trying to "fix" the bushing. This makes it impossible to mount the switch or socket in a metal box. I drill a cleaned 6x32 tapped hole for the electrical box with an 8x32 tap and install these larger screws. This is MUCH less work than replacing the whole box or bolting with JB Weld, filling the hole, drilling and drilling for a 6x32 bolt. Don't blame these screws for being "the wrong size". The buyer must know what he needs. Hope that helps!
