I like that we can use our own domain names for all of our web apps instead of having to deal with an external DNS provider. We've been able to keep most of our infrastructure under one roof (our datacenter) which has made things easier when dealing with support issues as well. There are some limitations around what you're allowed to do with hybrid environments so be sure to read up on those before jumping right in. If you don't want to manage everything yourself then this is not really going to work for you. It allows us to host multiple websites within our organization using different technologies while still keeping them separate from each other. This helps us avoid any cross site scripting attacks and also gives us better control over who's accessing what website/application.
