I work as a copier technician and install many copiers for customers including driver setup and scanning functions. It has become an invaluable tool when it comes to sharing drivers between computers. I no longer have to worry about spreading a virus from computer to computer across the company when copying drivers between my computer and flash drive. I was fine with the read-only physical switch. It's easy to change positions and doesn't feel as fragile as some other reviewers have claimed. Feels just as strong as you'd expect from a tiny read-only switch.
