This coat seems great but I measured my dog and it's just huge on her. She's a 10-pound Hanavese who's always cold. Her back measures 13 inches so I was arguing between small and medium. I have a small one and he swims on it. I can hem the legs, but the belly band is only tight when it's zipped around her body in the back. He has no way of establishing himself there. Seems like a good coat but it's a really odd fit, not sure which dog fits in the small but it doesn't fit my 10lb 13" Havana cat. Update: I was trying to fit this jacket to my 10 lb Havana dog. She is 9 years old and her back measures 13 inches. I hemmed the legs and added velcro to tighten them but it was still so loose and big that it fell and hit her face when her leg got stuck in the jacket despite my alterations so I figured it needed to be returned will. But it's so warm that I wanted to keep it for her, so I tried again. Hemmed the legs even shorter and put the velcro higher, now it's better. Still losing very much and the back is really too long even for a 13 inch long dog. But now it works. So I leave it, but I really wish it would fit better. I also had to shorten the elastic strap at the neck because it was so long that her nails got caught in it when she walked. It does keep you warm though, so just hope the new Velcro doesn't come loose and ruin the jacket over time. However, it is warm, good quality, but too big and baggy. Hope it suits your dog!
