Let me start by saying that my phone is an exception and really isn't the best choice for a phone with a lot of buttons on the sides of the phone. The kit is clearly not to blame. Plastic - Plain plastic, typical of cheap professional mounts. The spring tension capacity is very strong. This should be an inexpensive solution for most phones.
