It appears to be a well made product. I have no complaints about its design. My problem is that the scale doesn't show the weight in troy. It only seems to offer weight in ounces and pounds in AVDP format. Conversion should be a very simple matter for ANY computerized device. I have a tiny ten dollar scale that does both, but I wanted something that could handle a lot of weight. I checked the user manual and if the convert function is there I can't find it. Since I am using this precious metal scale, I must first weigh the material and then use my laptop to convert the weight using a free program from 1996 called Convert to Troy. This is an additional step that should NOT be required. Therefore, I suggest that you DO NOT purchase this product if you intend to measure precious metals. But it seems to be a good product for other uses like letter scales.
