The first few times I used it but the roller stopped working. I used to like it. You'd think that wouldn't be a problem since there's an on/off switch for the brush roller. The "off" setting (the one it's currently stuck in) is pretty much useless, as with stationary bristles it blocks actual debris extraction. I don't know who is more stupid Dirty Devil for making this product or me for buying it. To edit! - How to fix the brush roll if you need to use it for 2 months without the brush roll head. That meant I literally had to get on my knees and scrape the pet hair attachment across the carpet. Even that didn't pick up anything but dust, but the hair gathered in clumps large enough for me to easily pick up with my hands. It really cramps my hands and I get carpet burns in my knees so I decided to rip the brushroll head apart to see what happened. If your brushroll only runs for 2 seconds and stops, or keeps running VERY slowly, try this (at your own risk!). Remove 6 screws from the bottom of the head. Do not loosen the screw on the neck. Lift your head from the nape of your neck. The end of the mouth will not separate. I opened mine at the end of the neck with a screwdriver while pulling out the brushroll. There are two small white rectangles with "bunny ears" on either side of the brush roll that will come loose. (The white plastic gear for the belt cannot be removed.) You will see a lot of hair wrapped tightly around the ends of the brushroll that were previously hidden. I removed the hair with a tiny pocket knife and tweezers. Once all the hair has been removed, slide the white rectangles back towards the ends and twist the curlers into place. Don't forget to put the belt back on the cog. Close the head, put the screws back in and you should be good. It's a lot of trouble, but I'm poor. I can't just buy another vacuum or take it to a Hoover repair center.
