These things are cheap cheap cheap! The inexpensive build quality is immediately noticeable, with large air pockets in the lenses and a generally poor hand feel. Upon closer inspection, I found that the threaded hole had been drilled or cut crooked, meaning the mounting post was not square. For most applications it doesn't matter, but for mine it does. After removing the stand, you can see that the thin wires are not protected from abrasion by a thin metal plate inside. No wonder so many people complain about them breaking within months! Finally, the filament quality is very poor and it will certainly lead to filament breakage if not properly softened. Length of stud/tube with more RTV, then use medium strength threadlocker to secure stud to base. Let's hope this solves most of the reliability issues. All in all, at this price point (even for a 30 minute ride), they're a better deal than the Motogadget m-Blaze disc bar end signals, which are literally 20 times more expensive. If they end up breaking, is it worth buying again for 1/20th the cost or just upgrading to the real deal? There is no jury yet.
