Does not work as promised

buyer be careful. We bought this tray to replace one of the trays in our house. Firstly it's too deep for our kitty but we kinda expected it and decided to grow it in (no stars and no deductions for that). Our cats are not very fussy about the litter box, which means we usually empty it twice a week unless we see them prefer one litter box over another (in which case we empty it every day or two ). This new box has been installed for almost a week. It took the cats a few days to get used to it before they started using it so we only used it for 3 days. I went to put in a new toilet mat and figured now would be a good time to "sift" the trash. We've sifted cat litter in the past, so I'm familiar with the concept. However, this one was terrible. First, one of the latches doesn't engage very well and the other latch is so tight that it's difficult to unlatch to remove the hood. When I finally removed the hood, I removed the strainer bowl and found that about 1/3 of the bowl was already clogged with clumping litter (Tidy Cat brand). Not only that, the incredibly awkward attempt to collect the lumps that were there into the trash can and trying to juggle three trays is nigh on impossible (and incredibly hard when it's full of trash. After you dump some trash and sifted through the tray back into one of the pans (it only goes one way so you'll have to fiddle around a bit), I noticed there were still quite large chunks at the bottom of the other pan so I had to sift everything to spare save yourself the hassle and buy another screen tray if you need it, this one comes back (and I feel sorry for whoever at Revain was tasked with knocking leftover debris out of the screen tray holes).

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • keep silent
