I've had the straps since October and use them several times a week with no problems. But earlier this week I was driving on the freeway and one of the belts broke and my board flew onto the freeway. The straps broke completely out of the car and one of the buckles shattered my quarter glass (the solid glass behind the passenger window). I read an article about this type of strap system and didn't know how to twist the straps before attaching them to avoid hum. Apparently when the straps vibrate from the wind they heat up and probably mine will eventually weaken to the point of failure. I bought this set again as I need to go back there. Make sure you twist the straps before attaching them though, as this will kill the hum. Also, try not to go over 60 mph with them. Much luck!
