Must have for surfing

If you live in California and want to surf your own surfboard, this is the best option. I used to use a proper roof rack and straps on my old car, but installation took a while and wasn't always reliable. This allows you to easily place pads and easily attach them to your board. There are basically two loops to take care of: the one that goes through your car and the one that lies on top with the board. You can also easily store it away at any time with the included storage box. Looks great onโ€ฆ

Twist the straps several times before fastening!

I've had the straps since October and use them several times a week with no problems. But earlier this week I was driving on the freeway and one of the belts broke and my board flew onto the freeway. The straps broke completely out of the car and one of the buckles shattered my quarter glass (the solid glass behind the passenger window). I read an article about this type of strap system and didn't know how to twist the straps before attaching them to avoid hum. Apparently when the strapsโ€ฆ

ONLY 15 inches wide. Are you kidding me?

I re-read the product description above and couldn't find the actual size of the product anywhere. Too bad I didn't notice. The longboard roof pad (which says in the product ad) is only 15 inches in diameter. I wanted the pads to fit my 30" longboard, 34" paddle board and 31" Lifetime 9ft kayak. I don't think these thumbnail width overlays are safe for my purposes. Who makes headliners that are only 15 inches wide? Even 10 years ago when I had the Block Surf Tam Dem roof covers (which I lostโ€ฆ
