It went wrong, they sent a replacement, the original worked again.
4 stars for the product itself but I would give the seller 5 stars. The hygrostat started to fail after 3.5 months of constant use but they sent me a brand new one no questions asked and had no problem returning the original. Now the original works again. I don't know why it didn't work, but it sort of fixed itself. Maybe the sensor was just wet, I don't know, but I turned it off, dried it for a day and reinstalled it and it's working again. Let's see how long. It's good that I have a backup in case this happens again.
