EDIT: I sometimes have power consumption issues on small to medium sized devices. I wouldn't use this to flash microcontrollers that might be hard-locked (the bootloader isn't in ROM). In addition, the device produces a surprising amount of radio interference in the upper UHF range. A noticeable change in range and signal-to-noise ratio for 2.4 GHz wireless devices can be observed within a few meters when using an aggressive USB 3.0/3.1 connection speed and is active. Learn about nutritional abnormalities; I can't run my USB 3.0 DVD-RW on this little guy. It lacks power. The ports only supply about 650mA each. I expected the device to be shared when only one device is connected, but that's not the case. However, at least two USB 3.0 drives will run without problems. This may be because I used an 18" Type-C extension cable. In a way, it's almost incompatible. I haven't gone crazy testing it, it works for 90% of the things I need it for, it looks good enough and it uses my board's type-c slot which I badly needed, my z370 has 2x 3.1, 2x 3.0 and 2x 2.1 USB ports, my case adds 2x 2.1 and 2x 3.0 which doesn't cover my peripheral usage very well. Bottom line, it works correctly for the most part, but don't expect an $18 miracle. Acceptable build quality, good positive connector latch. Great form factor, I use a four piece double lock to secure it on my desk. Very useful as my USB-C port is not in use.
