So, I have no experience with other tofu presses and thankfully I have not used the paper towel method or any other homemade methods of pressing tofu. As I'm just experimenting with tofu after lunch at a Thai restaurant and I loved it. I remember trying years ago and phew! I was very nervous trying to choose the right press for my budget and I am very glad I chose this one. There were no problems with the fixation, that's what I was most afraid of. When I read the reviews they said it was really heavy and some even said it takes two people to clamp it down. I managed to push it in with little resistance, which is to be expected when squeezing the water out of the tofu. No problems here and very easy to clean. Satisfied customer.
