Of the three rulers, I only use one edge. I love that you can see through them and they work really well on regular paper. Heavy paper is another thing, especially if you only want the very edge of the paper, which is why I bought them. They come with a "pen" to pour water into to try and help with thicker paper, but it's hit and miss. Maybe I didn't wet the paper with enough water? I think I would have preferred a sharper edge that would actually rip through thicker paper without having to soak the edge of the paper with a water pen.
