It did have a strong chemical smell when we opened it so I don’t suggest it be used inside a home around small children or at the least until it’s aired out a bit. We have a double front door so we use this as a outdoor doormat. The white patches on the print are a lot more predominate than it looks in the picture so after the first day outside we decided to use Scotchgaurd on it. There’s no curling of the edges, lays flat and the piping on the edges have remained in tact. It does not get direct sunlight but we do live in Arizona and there has been no fading. It vacuums nicely.
