This cable is only useful if you're powering something ridiculously small that uses little power. If you use it for something more, it gets very hot! It gets so hot that gloves are required to move the line and we were concerned it would ignite the wood in the area we were shooting with it. I would never suggest using this cord with power tools, hair dryers, heaters, coffee pots, etc. Yes I should have been more careful to see it's 16/3 but I'm sure a lot of people like me will be looking at open/heavy duty and not thinking about actually looking at the wire size
