I like everything about it. It has a safety lock. This works very well. I have an egg steamer and it comes with a water gauge with a needle at the bottom to pierce an egg. It takes both hands to poke an egg, and it squeaks a lot with your fingers on the board. It doesn't make that much noise and only requires one hand. The instructions clearly state to pierce the fat end of the egg. On my egg steamer in the past, my eggs suddenly started exploding constantly. It was written in small print to pierce the thick end. I put eggs on the counter and lost the fat end. FYI eggs are wrapped with thick ends.
