Fills out nice and thick. Cant see the shaft at all. Also can't see the string part of lights if you get white. My two feral monsters have tried and failed at climbing and knocking it over. Very sturdy and so easy to assemble. I wish it came with a storage bag but for the price, I don't mind getting it separate.
